Getting to Michigan

We made it to Michigan at 10:56 am after leaving at 12:45 am this morning. I do believe that is our record for an early departure.  It was a very nice drive as there was not a ton of roadwork and traffic was good for much of the trip.  As anyone from Michigan knows, the roadwork was worst here.

I was very lucky that Troy let me sleep much of the way before daylight.  I only made it to a little past Chattanooga before I conked out completely. I woke up at dawn and even helped drive for a while.  Troy is the best traveling companion ever, and I am the sleepiest.  I don’t cause trouble that way. :).

Tomorrow wife head to the DIA, Detroit Institute of Art, with Troy’s, and my cousins, Jody and Dan. I have been once before but look forward to seeing things again. It was a wonderful experience before.  I guess day one is down in the books. :) Now for a nice sleep cause Troy is beat.

Bronner’s

We always know we are getting close even when we are still in Ohio and see our first Bronner’s billboard.  Not long now and we will be to the world’s best Christmas store.  I just hope I can stop myself from spending as much as last time.

So Close to So Far Away

We will be heading to our Michigan adventures on Aug. 4th.  Both Troy and I are very excited to head north again for a much needed long vacation. On this trip, Lucy will be staying with the wonderful groomer/pet hotel, Precious Paws of Rockmart. She loves them and they treat her like a queen.  I hope she enjoys doggie camp as much as I plan to enjoy vacation.

Getting ready to go!!!

Well, the trip is very close now.  We will be heading North on August 4th and plan a lovely 16 days away. Sweet Troy has, as usual, planned every leg of the trip and I am so looking forward to going to new and familiar stops.  It looks like we may be in for a few not so pleasant surprises as the UP has experienced some devastating rains and flooding this year.  It is never fun to see the trials of others but hopefully the tourist revenue will help in a small way.  Looking forward to getting underway.
